(= In this class we will play a variety of Roblox games including: Bloxburg (building game) MM2 Arsenal Natural Disaster Survival Adopt MeIn this class we will play a variety of Roblox games including: Bloxburg (building game) MM2 Arsenal Natural Disaster Survival Adopt Me Catalogue Avatar Creator Spray Paint (Graffiti game) Restaurant Tycoon Hello Kitty Restaurant Andy's Musical Chairs Breaking Point Laundry Simulator Retail Tycoon 2 Grapple People Simulator Funky Friday Royal High ...and more! DURING CLASS: We will vote on games to play throughout class. We will spend 10-20 minutes in each game. Any voted for game will be added to the queue and played (usually within 2 class periods) so rest assured if your choice doesn't get played, I will work it in soon! *We will aim to play on private servers as often as possible! IF YOU DON’T LIKE OUR GAME CHOICE: You are welcome to stay in the meeting, talk and hangout, you can play a different game on Roblox for 20 minutes, and then jump back in with us at the start of the next game! THERE ARE THREE METHODS TO TALK TO ME about any concerns during class: 1. Learners must be comfortable using the chat to communicate 2. We have a code word for tech issues 3. Speak to me out loud during class MAKE SPACE FOR OTHER LEARNERS: Be careful not to talk over others, do not name call, no bad words, and try not to interrupt one another. I may mute the class from time to time if there is something important that I need to get across. I do welcome talking; I want you all to have a good time and be able to talk and play as well! (= __________ Additional class details below... __________ ***IMPORTANT ACCOUNT NOTE: LEARNERS MUST HAVE A ROBLOX ACCOUNT prior to joining this class. ****ROBLOX CREATORS: While it is awesome that there are many learners who are CREATING games on Roblox, this class is not a testing ground for those classes. We will only be playing popular settled games on the Roblox platform. We have also had issues where a learner might be a moderator (creator) for a game and then we faced public-server type bugs, and it simply cannot be controlled as well as private servers/the teacher. My education includes high school, trade school (nurse aide), personal training certification (self study/tested out), I then attended college and completed both my bachelor (B.S. in Religious Psychology) and masters degree (Public Health, minor in Promotion). I hope to continue my education. I aspire to use my education and experience to educate your darling children.
Experience…
I have been teaching online (various platforms) since 2018 and I have been teaching in person since high school - from pre-k to 12th grade to adults and adults with intellectual disabilities. I absolutely love the opportunity to educate and inspire my students to WANT to learn.
In the classroom...
I value kindness in the classroom, I am gentle, I think participation from all learners is incredibly important, and learning a variety of ways makes an experience invaluable (verbal, hands on, and any other way we can!). I hope to be engaging and fun but also offer knowledge that inspires 'seeking' and dreaming, like I have found in my life.
Fun fact...
Something fun and personal about me: I have travelled and lived all over the United States as well as the Dominican Republic and Guatemala. I was born in Hawaii and have experienced HOT weather of over 100 degrees (help!) as well as COLD (brrrrr!) below 0 degrees. I have also had many many different kinds of pets including exotic ones! It has been so fun. Ask me about them sometime. (=
