In this one-time lesson for ages 5-8, we will create sculptures from recycled materials, including strips of colorful paper and cardboard. Children will learn about sculptures, and I will demonstrate many ways they can use their paper to construct an imaginary world - will it be a playground, an amusement park, or something else? *A piece of cardboard or something similar for the base of the sculpture - around 8 in. x 12 in. or 20 cm x 30 cm, can be a little bigger or smaller *Several strips of colorful paper (I used 12) - you can use construction paper, cardstock, sales circulars, magazines, old artworks, etc. Strips can be a variety of widths and up to about 12 in. or 30 cm long. Older learners may cut their own strips or have whole paper available to cut. *Scissors *Glue - white glue from the bottle works best *A pencil or pen *Optional: drawing/coloring materials
