Who can take this course? How long does it take?

This tutoring program is designed for both absolute beginners, and those who have just started their journey into TTRPGs like Dungeons and Dragons. I meet you at whatever skill and knowledge level you are at, and we work together to design a curriculum that helps you learn what you want to learn! The course lasts as long as you'd like. The course is built for long term students who want to continuously develop their skills on a regular basis. However, if you just wanted some help to nail down the basics and are satisfied after a few sessions - no problem!

What do we actually do during class?

When we first meet we'll discuss the areas of world building, dungeon mastering, and gameplay, that you want to learn about. That might include discussions about what makes a good story, a good character, and how to make tough decisions when the rules of the game are not clear. Other times, we'll load up a map and actually roll some dice and play out a situation on a virtual tabletop - with you as the Dungeon Master! Each class is automatically recorded too - so you'll always be able to go back and review the session or take notes when it's most convenient for you.

How much work is expected of students? Are there grades or tests?

There are no grades or tests in any of my courses. At times I may suggest further study or optional homework. I might ask you to develop a skill challenge or quest hook, and bring it to class for discussion and testing. Simply put, you'll get from this course what you put into it. Learners who are motivated, ask questions, ask more questions, message me between classes for insights, and experiment on their own will excel.
