수업 소개
Did you know there are 21 verb tenses in Italian!? How do you differentiate between them and what's the big difference? And which ones are the most important or useful? We are going to start to unpack those questions. In this course, we will learn some of the Indicativo section which contains 8 verb tenses. We are focusing on 5 of the 8 verb tenses which are used the most-- presente (present), passato prossimo (past), imperfetto (another one for the past), imperativo (asking requests), and futuro (futuro). Week 1: Indicativo- Presente (present tense) and the patterns for regular verbs (a code to know that will translate most verbs in the present tense) Week 2-3 : Indicativo-- Passato Prossimo (present perfect; one of the past tenses) and the patterns for regular verbs (a code to know that will translate most verbs in this tense) Week 4: Indicativo-- Imperfetto (imperfect; one of the past tenses) and the patterns for regular verbs (a code to know that will translate most verbs in this tense) Week 5: Indicativo-- Imperativo (imperative; to ask requests) and the patterns for regular verbs (a code to know that will translate most verbs in this tense) Week 6: Indicativo-- Futuro (future) and the patterns for regular verbs (a code to know that will translate most verbs in this tense) Week 7: Review Each week, as long as time permits, we will also do mini-conversation skills. *Each time, we will review the information from the last lesson. *Students will be given a PDF, etc. (Homework is optional which includes reviewing what we learned.) *Subject to change.

The goal of this class is to help students get excited and feel confident in speaking some Italian through learning the 5 most used and most useful verb tenses plus learning some conversation skills along the way.
This course can help them get interested in foreign languages to feel more confident in Italian for those learning the language for fun, traveling to Italy, living in Italy, understanding Italian relatives better, or getting ready for college languages classes.

I believe that taking foreign language classes opens the doors to many opportunities. In high school, I took Spanish, and at university, I learned up to the Intermediate level in Italian. I now give students the opportunity to learn the Italian language by making it fun and engaging through my teaching style, print-offs, and Quizlets games. I have been teaching basic through intermediate Italian courses since 2019 involving basic conversation skills, grammar (present indicative, passato prossimo, conjugating verbs with pronouns, adjectives reflecting the correct the-- as there are 7 the's in Italian, and more), as well as vocabulary and fairytale reading classes to make the language to come to life in a fun way.
