This is an opportunity to try out a group piano class. Each week, we will begin with some movement and rhythm games off the piano bench, and move to sitting at the keyboard and following rhythm patterns while playing with a closed fist. This is an introduction of the skills covered in my multi-week Ready for Piano classes. By the end of this class, learners will be able to identify high and low sounds at the piano, and will have had practice making high and low sounds at the piano themselves while following rhythmic patterns learned at the beginning of the class, using the rhythmic solfege system developed by Edwin Gordon. Repeating this class is a great option for families who need a few opportunities to experience something new before committing to a longer-term group piano course.
