We will be reading one on one with a focus on reading fluency and comprehension. We will use a variety of topics such as history, fantasy and science to have a well rounded assessment of the student's reading skills. The class will begin with a warm up for 10 minutes with nonsense words and phrases. We will then read a story and correct throughout the reading. We will spend the last 20 minutes of class reviewing the story and discussing what we have read in class. I will instruct the student through corrective measures and lots of support. I believe in encouraging and supporting the student is the key to learning quickly. We will have a variety of ways to practice what we have learned such as vocabulary games, discussion questions and review slides.
