Learning to read in a new language offers several advantages over the conventional methods of language learning. Here are some reasons why:

In our first session, we will take the time to get to know each other better. I will ask you some questions to assess your existing knowledge and discuss the goals and expectations for our class. If you're starting from scratch, we'll begin by focusing on the Spanish vowels. Subsequent classes will be customized to your specific needs, incorporating engaging activities to make the learning process enjoyable. Since pronunciation is vital in a language class, I expect learners to unmute during the session so that I can provide feedback and correct any errors.

Here is a structured outline of the topics we will cover in order, starting where needed:
1) Introduction to Spanish letter names and sounds, including digraphs.
2) Syllables and words - we will practice combining consonants, digraphs, and vowels to form syllables and read words.
3) Reading rules - I will explain accent marks, punctuation, and review pronunciation rules for letters and digraphs with varying sounds.
4) Reading sentences - we will progress to forming sentences by combining words.
5) Weekly reading practice - your learner will enjoy reading a short stories customized for them to aid in learning common words and phrases.
6) Additional reading practice - either you or I can choose a story or book each week to further expand your Spanish vocabulary and improve fluency.

Starting from the third class, we'll begin each session with a quick review of what was learned the previous week. This reinforcement ensures that the knowledge sticks with the learner for the long term. To enhance progress, optional gameplay or homework may be provided to encourage continued practice outside of class time.

Once the learner has gained proficiency in reading Spanish, we will focus on expanding vocabulary, verb conjugation, and developing basic conversational skills through reading exercises.
