Does your child know basic letter sounds but you’re not sure where to go from here? In this beginning reading class, we will broaden student’s current knowledge of consonant and short vowel sounds to reading a simple book. Each child will receive an opportunity to read at least a portion of the CVC word family ladder after the group introduction on how to blend the sounds. We will then play a game to review those words in a different format before reading a simple book together. If your child...
Students will take single letter sound knowledge and progress to reading words in the “if” family before reading a simple book. Children (parents) will also be given access to the online memory game so that your child may play it for review after class, if desired. This class is part two of “Beginning Reading.” Children are encouraged to sign up for section 3 where a new word family, new game, and new book will be introduced.
No additional materials are required.
