The course is a five-day reading comprehension course taught over five consecutive days for one week (M-F) for students with a fourth-grade reading level. Students will improve their reading comprehension by practicing skills of identifying main ideas and details, making inferences, using compare and contrast skills, using summarizing skills, and writing responses to assignments designed to reflect their understanding of specific concepts presented in each nonfiction article.
As a reading specialist, I am offering this class to provide students with assistance to improve reading comprehension skills.
