This is an intervention class for reading. I will teach the students the fundamentals of reading - phonological awareness, phonemic awareness, phonics, and reading comprehension. "Phonological and phonemic awareness refer to spoken language - the understanding that the sounds of spoken language work together to make words. Phonics refers to the connection between sounds and print - it's the instruction that teaches that letters represent the sounds of spoken language, or the alphabetic principle. Phonics is the tool teachers use to facilitate making print-sound associations." - readingrockets.org This is a 1:1 class that will meet once a week. I recommend attending 6 sessions or more to see the potential growth of the learner. Classes will be done live via Zoom. This class is also great for EL students learning the English language.
