This class is intended to work on a child's phonics, sight words, fluency, and comprehension. In the first class, I will assess where the child is and then teach reading skills based on the level your child has been placed at. Scholars will be working on phonics through direct phonics instructions and reading practices. We will work with flashcards to memorize not only reading but spelling sight words. We will also be reading out loud in order to improve reading fluency and comprehension. There will be a mixture of direct phonics instruction, fluency practice, and comprehension practice through chat as well as interactive Nearpods to engage students in their reading.
