미국 Pre-Kindergarten학년 - Kindergarten학년 학년
I am so glad you are here! I am a certified reading and exceptional education K-12 teacher and mom to three kids ages 7, 10, and 14. Since I opened this class, I have seen three year old children learn to learn fluently and beautifully while also developing their comprehension skills. This is possible because the brain of a child in this age (2-5 years old) is primed for learning. I saw the same results with my own children who are now all in gifted classes and reading 4 grades above their level. It's a beautiful thing! 💚 With lots of dedication, in just 14 weeks, your little one will learn to read full sentences! By the end of this class, your child will be able to read and develop reading comprehension skills. The video above features my own daughter who was reading at 2 years old using this program. She is now going into 2nd grade and reading at 4th grade level in our local gifted program. Kids as young as 2 can learn to read sight words easily and in a fun way. This is a different method than the one used in classrooms. 🌟 Why should your little one learn how to read? Your young child's brain is grows rapidly between birth and 5 years old. "In the first few years of life, more than 1 million new neural connections form every second" (Center on the Developing Child at Harvard University). This is the time when your little on is taking on the world, learning new vocabulary, and creating habits that will remain with them for life. This is the time to develop the reader in them and to guarantee their future success in school. 🦉 Why use this method? Research shows that humans construct their knowledge by connecting what they already know to new information. From a very young age, children can easily recognize many different pictures and associate those pictures with sounds. Kids learn to read using a combination of letter sounds and sight words. As they learn to associate written words to nouns that they already know they construct their own knowledge. This is what the constructivist theory is about. As kids learn to read whole words they also increase their vocabulary. If your child is already learning letter sounds, this method will complement what they are already learning. If your child does not know letter sounds and doesn't even know how to identify letters in the alphabet, your child will learn to read words before they learn letter sounds with this method. This is how my own three kids learned to read. I will tell you more about them below in the teacher background information. Learning to read is easier when your child can make connections with what he or she already knows. Based on the theory of constructivism, the process of learning works by building knowledge based on what children already know. "Basically, learners use their previous knowledge as a foundation and build on it with new things that they learn" (Western Governors University) 📆 How long will this take? This program will only take 15 minutes daily, 5 days per week. That's all the time you need. You and your child will watch a short 10 minute video lesson, then you will show your child the words of the week once in the morning and once before bedtime, 5 times a week. Instructions and assignments will include making sentence strips that your child will learn. 💙 What type of materials does this class offer? Learners and parents will be able to access the class resources in our virtual classroom. These resources include: 🌟 A lesson recorded by Lauren Smith (K-12 Reading teacher): In this video, the teacher will read a story and show the words of the week. Stories are sourced from Readworks with permission from the source. 🌟 A pdf file that should be printed and includes the reading assignments for the week. You will need to print these and practice with your child for no more than five minutes every single day. 😃 Will the teacher get to interact with my child? Parents will record weekly audio or video (whichever you feel comfortable sharing) for our weekly reading assignments. The teacher will provide weekly feedback via Outschool messages. 🦉 Syllabus: Week #1- Introduction for parents & Lesson 1 Week #2- Lesson 2 Week #3- Lesson 3 Week #4- Lesson 4 Week #5- Lesson 5 Week #6- Lesson 6 Week #7- Lesson 7 Week #8- Lesson 8 Week #9- Lesson 9 Week #10- Lesson 10 Week #11- Lesson 11 Week #12- Lesson 12 Week #13- Lesson 13 Week #14 - Lesson 14 Background: I am a certified teacher in exceptional student education for students K-12 with specializations in reading and English for Speakers of Other Languages. I am also certified in the areas of birth through 4 years old. I wholeheartedly enjoy teacher reading the best. I am an avid reader. I enjoy developing my own curricula and developed this reading program 14 years ago and used it with my own kids. I taught my three children to read when they were just two years old by applying whole word teaching strategies. The results were astounding! My kids, who are now in grade school and high school, learned to read fluently and fluidly, by the time they were four years old and the best part? They LOVE books! My oldest son was reading 5th grade books in kindergarten, my daughter who is now 9, scored a 9th grade reading in the last reading assessment, and my youngest, who is in first grade , is now reading at a 4th grade level. Not only did this method help them with reading, but it also helped them grow their academic abilities in other subjects as well. My two daughters, in first grade and fourth grade are both polyglots who speak English, French and Spanish fluently, and my 8th grade son has scored a perfect score in SAT. The most impressive results came with my middle daughter who has cerebral palsy and rides a wheelchair. After teaching her to read at two years old, she learned two more languages (French and Spanish) and scored a whopping 142 in her IQ tests at school and is now in the gifted program at Miami- Dade Public Schools. Whether your child is regularly developing or has special needs, this program will boost their academic abilities.
