🌟 This class focuses on phonics, phonemic awareness, blends, segmenting, decoding, multi-syllable words, auditory processing, chunking, and spelling. In this ongoing class, each meeting will be broken up into three distinct activities; Vocabulary Word of the Day, Guided Reading, and Word Attack. We will learn a new vocabulary word each day and discuss how to use the word of the day in a sentence. Learners will add their own sentences using the word of the day to their journals. We will...
Students will become more confident, fluent, and independent readers with a strong vocabulary.
I am a certified elementary teacher and certified reading teacher. I am offering this class to give students an in-depth study of how our English words are structured, and how to break them down into their sounds in order to make decoding easier. Once students have mastered the decoding techniques, they can more readily apply them to the guided reading activity. I teach each lesson using the Phono-graphix method which I have been formally trained in by the program authors. I have been using this strategy with my private students for over 20 years and my students have had amazing success with it.

Students are encouraged to write a sentence using the vocabulary word of the day. This is an optional assignment but highly recommended. Students may share the sentence they come up with in class, share it on the classroom page, or send it in a message directly to the teacher.수업 외 주당 0 - 1 시간
