This is a great course for students who are new to acting and love to read! Students will learn characterization with the added benefit of increasing both reading fluency and comprehension. No memorization is required. Students will exercise what they have learned by performing Reader's Theater versions of some of the best known spooky stories. 1. Students will learn the format of reading and performing for Reader's Theater. 2. Students will learn how to create the appropriate mood for a listening audience. 3. Students will learn how to create different character voices through pitch, rate, inflection, and expression. 4. Students are encouraged not to worry about small mistakes and just keep going. The show must go on!
