The first tutoring session will allow me to get to know the student and assess their literacy needs. The following classes will be used to target in individual literacy needs of the student. Classes could contain word work, vocabulary practice, handwriting practice, pre-writing/writing skills, and/or reading comprehension skills. Learning goals will be determined based on the individual student. Students may have goals to build letter/ sound relationships, reading comprehension, blending or decoding words wit specific vowels blends or diagraphs. Other goals might include handwriting or pre-writing skills. The overall goal is for each student to gain a love of learning, and gain confidence in their literacy skills.
I am a licensed Pre-k-4 teacher with 14 years of teaching experience in primarily Kindergarten and 1st grades.
