Students will have fun interacting with other animal and rainforest enthusiasts in our online classroom.
Students will learn how to use a graphic organizer to gather facts from informational text and internet resources.  
Students will read for information, ask questions, complete a speaking and listening rubric, give an oral report, and receive immediate feedback from the teacher and their peers.

I've made three trips to the tropical rain forest in Costa Rica.  At one time, I dreamed of moving there to open a school on the beach. I imagined teaching with squawking birds and howling monkeys as the background music in my tropical outdoor classroom. That dream never came true and instead, the high desert of Nevada became my home.  Luckily I had the kindergarten through 4th-grade students in my public school classroom join me in studying this fascinating topic every year.  This was one of my favorite projects of the school year and it was loved by parents and students as well.  Join me!
