This class offers a unique, research-based approach to reading instruction that is designed to help your child become a strong reader.

Using a carefully designed curriculum, the program systematically builds your child's skills in phonemic awareness, phonics, vocabulary, fluency, and comprehension.

 If you are familiar with the Fountas and Pinnell Guided Reading levels, we will be reading books at levels E-H.  If you would like help assessing the reading level of your child, please reach out and I will send you a quick guide.

Students can take this class without taking my previous class if they already know some basic sight words, and some beginning phonics including the short vowel sounds, silent e, and R controlled vowels.    As we learn the skills and sounds, we will also be reading simple books together so that we can apply what they've learned while actually reading.

We will do this through a variety of digital resources that I have created and found through my experience as a classroom teacher and online tutor.  I use PowerPoint slides, songs, and digital books on RAZ Kids as part of my instruction.  Each student will be added to my RAZ kids class so that they can practice reading on their own and with an adult at their level in between sessions.

Lessons 5-6:

2.  Vowel Pattern - More Two Vowel Whiners

4.  Reading more books to focus on Sight Words and decoding

Lessons 7-8:
