미국 6학년 - 9학년 학년
Queens, Conquerors, and Codebreakers is a creative, cross-curricular club that celebrates women who made history across time and around the world. Each week, students are introduced to a new figure—from ancient rulers to 20th-century inventors—and gain historical insight through maps, visuals, and storytelling. After the short lesson, learners complete a guided writing prompt that encourages both creativity and critical thinking. Tasks include fictional interviews, short biographies, first-person narratives, and timeline-based summaries. This is a highly interactive club where students grow as writers and thinkers while exploring global history through a gender-inclusive lens. Students can enroll at any time. Each session stands alone and welcomes both new and returning learners. Club Structure: • Warm-Up (5–10 min): “Who Am I?” riddle or discussion prompt • Mini-Lesson (15–20 min): Biography + cultural/historical context • Guided Writing Task (15–20 min): Short creative or informational writing • Optional Sharing (5–10 min): Read-alouds or reflection Sample Weekly Topics & Writing Tasks: • Artemisia I of Caria (Greece): Write a captain’s log from her naval campaign • Fatima al-Fihri (Tunisia): Design and describe her 9th-century university • Lakshmibai, Rani of Jhansi (India): Write a letter to her troops • Ching Shih (China): Create a pirate code or outlaw decree • Wu Zetian (China): Conduct a fictional interview about her reign • Nzinga Mbande (Angola): Draft a royal negotiation strategy • Ada Lovelace (England): Write a letter from one coder to another • Rosa Parks (USA): Write a news article on the bus boycott • Sor Juana Inés de la Cruz (Mexico): Compose a poetic reflection on learning • Queen Seondeok (Korea): Write a court proclamation or cultural reform (Eras and regions rotate to keep content fresh for returning students.)
