초보자와 수줍은 학생을 위한 대중 연설 - ADHD 및 불안 친화적

Students who face anxiety and ADHD may have trouble putting their thoughts together when speaking and/or may feel afraid to speak in public. This class allows kids to gain confidence in speaking and enables them to put their thoughts and words together in an organized manner. Practicing social skills and communication skills through play has been proven to be very effective and increases confidence in children. This is why my class will be play-based. There will be very less teaching and more playing in this class. I will be more of a facilitator than a teacher. We will engage in a lot of fun speaking drills, silly speech games and storytelling. 

This class is only 30 minutes long so students can stay interested during this duration.  Also, this class' maximum capacity is 4 students.  This way, students will feel more comfortable in a smaller group and be more willing to participate. I will ensure, that each student gets a turn and a chance to express themselves. If you have any concerns for your child or any techniques/preparations you believe I should implement, please feel free to let me know and I will do my very best to provide your child with the best experience. 

This class is very simple and made for students who have a hard time expressing themselves. I praise them for small sentences and phrases they say and I provide more specific attention to each child as it is a small group.

Every class will have a theme, where students have the option to prepare for it. For example, the first class will be 'happy' where students will be asked to tell the class about a happy time in their life. Students will be provided with a schedule for each week before the class starts. This way, they can prepare for it. 


This class will follow a strict structure. This way, this class can become a part of your child's routine and they know exactly what will be coming. 

This is the basic structure of this class: 
Check-in: How do you feel today? What is one thing interesting that happened this week? - The same question will be asked every class so students can prepare for it.

Open Stage
What's your opinion? Students will be asked about a topic or current issue and be asked to provide their opinion about it. 
Game time: We will play a public speaking drill or game together.
