Assessment is ongoing - I will send quarterly reports of the students progress as their learning and understanding of their own instrument progresses. In this ongoing class, your learner will be introduced to singing through individualized one on one instruction with the goal of improving your students singing ability, as well as broadening their understanding of how we use the voice to share and tell stories! This class will suit singers who have had some singing experience, and we will dive deeper into concepts such as the physicality of singing, advanced musical ideas and a range of singing styles. Each lesson will involve a period of warmup, where we simultaneously get the voice going and train it to function more optimally, as well a period dedicated to working together on songs of the students choosing (with some input from me!). This can include Disney songs, Musical Theatre, Pop songs, Classical pieces, Jazz, and more! See below for full content options, which we can discuss and prioritize in our first meeting! As a singer, I have been performing in diverse musical spaces over the past 10 years - I have had the joy of singing everything from Musical Theatre, Jazz, Opera, Pop/Contemporary vocal music and much more.
Holding a Bachelors in Voice from Lawrence University, Appleton WI and a Masters in Voice and Opera from McGill University Montreal, QC, I bring my over 18 years of voice study and performance experience in classical voice to my students here on Outschool.
