Private Reading Comprehension & Novel Study Tutoring ( Meets Twice a Week)

In this personalized 1-on-1 reading comprehension and novel study class, learners will explore engaging, age-appropriate literature or short reading passages while developing essential critical thinking and reading skills. 

Each private session is tailored to the student’s reading level, interests, and pace, creating a safe and supportive environment where young readers build confidence and fluency.

Three options:
1. Select a novel and read assigned chapters to discuss in class
2. I will share short passages during class to read and practice comprehension skills
3. Combination of both

📚 If you choose to select a novel to examine, each class begins with a quick check-in on the assigned reading, followed by an in-depth literature discussion focused on:

✅Understanding the plot 
✅Character development and motivations
✅Setting and its influence on the story
✅Point of view and perspective
✅Figurative language and literary devices
✅Vocabulary

      Students will strengthen their vocabulary skills, make text-based inferences, and explore key themes and messages in the book. To assess comprehension in a fun and low-pressure way, each session ends with a brief Kahoot quiz, shared through a link in the chat.

      If you choose to read short passages shared in class, learners will work on comprehension skills such as but not limited to :
