In this private piano course, learners will receive interactive, one-on-one instruction tailored to their age, skill level, and musical goals. Whether your child is a complete beginner or already has experience, these lessons will help them grow in confidence and skill while exploring the world of piano in a fun and engaging way. A typical lesson may include: 1. Warm-ups with scales and chords 2. Guided instruction from Faber Piano Adventures books 3. Sight-reading practice 4. Rehearsing a performance piece Core Topics Covered: • Music Notation: Piano key names, the grand staff, treble and bass clefs, musical symbols (notes, rests, time signatures) • Rhythm: Clapping and counting whole, half, quarter, and eighth note rhythms • Technique: Proper hand position, posture, and finger exercises for dexterity • Music Theory: Major/minor scales, intervals, chords, and sight-reading basics Practice Expectations: Students are encouraged to practice 30 minutes to 1 hour, 2–3 times a week. Practice should include scales, arpeggios, chords, and any assigned songs or pieces. I hold a Bachelor’s in Music and have over 12 years of experience teaching piano, voice, guitar, and drums. I’ve led vocal groups for churches and worked one-on-one with students, helping them build their musical skills and confidence. My teaching style combines fun and relaxation with a strong focus on growth.
I believe music connects us in powerful ways. I help students develop a solid foundation in technique and theory, then we expand into creativity and personal expression. My goal is to help every student discover their unique voice, rather than try to imitate others.
