Is your student bored in their general education math class and ready to learn more?! In our first math enrichment session, I will assess where your student is in their math knowledge and talk with them about what they want to learn. We will also play some math games together! Based on our first session, I will develop personalized math enrichment for your learner. Each subsequent meeting will be a chance for your child to learn new concepts and practice the skills that come with doing challenging work. I have 12 years of experience teaching gifted special education, and 20 years in elementary education, and would love to help your student reach their potential!
Some examples (which I've done with actual students!) could be: 
*a 5.5 year old kindergartener learning fractions and how they relate to whole numbers
*a 10 year old 4th grader learning fractional exponents and how they relate to radicals
*a 7 year old 2nd grader learning the geometric principals of 3d shapes
*a 9 year old 3rd grader learning the different ways to express and analyze data
In a 40-minute session, we typically spend about 30 minutes working on a specific math topic that is at your child's level and then the last 10 minutes or so is spent working on a critical and/or creative thinking activity. Some examples are Ooodle Math, KenKen puzzles, Daily Set, and Nonograms. During our sessions, I share my screen with the student and work out problems on the screen for the learner to follow along. I encourage students to bring paper and pencil to our sessions so they can work out problems independently when they are ready.
