Welcome to Drop-In Circle Time! This class is all about bats!

We will begin with our greetings and name song to get to know each other.  Every learner will be encouraged to tell the group what they know about bats.

Next, we will do some fun songs and fingerplays about bats, including (of course) Five Little Bats.

Math awareness activities will include one-to-one counting, number recognition, and rote counting using spooky bat figures. We will also practice some patterns with numbers and colors and play a board game to get the bats to their cave!

For Science, we will brainstorm what bats eat, where they live, and learn some interesting facts about them. First, we will deduce some information we think or know about bats, then we will explore some facts about them.

Everyone will get the chance to share what they learned in class before saying goodbye.

During this class, learners will have a chance to meet new friends while exploring a popular topic. Everyone is encouraged to participate in all activities. There will be visual aids in the form of hand and finger movements, screen-shared slides with animation, and some sound effects.  Discussion is encouraged!

All materials will be screen-shared by the teacher. Learners will need nothing outside of the Outschool Zoom classroom.
