Pre-Calculus for Mathematicians: Problem Solving Integrated Math Course (Fall)
Mathematicians will work together in an ongoing student-led, teacher-facilitated workroom to problem solve through Pre-Calculus. May be taken as a complete Pre-Calc class or may supplement a more traditional class. Prerequisite: Algebra II
Class Experience
US Grade 9 - 12
Mathematicians in the Pre-Calculus Problem Solving Integrated Math Course will be able to use math skills to solve a variety of problems related to Pre-Calculus topics, which includes standard Pre-Calculus content such as functions, conic sections, and trigonometry. The focus of this class will remain on solving word problems in context rather than from drill and practice to build Pre-Calculus skills. - Students will be able to explore new Algebra I concepts through inquiry methods.
- Students will be able to present solutions and conclusions to peers.
- Students will be able to confidently problem solve using previously acquired mathematics skills and support from peers.
