Students will apply concepts illustrated in the lesson to solve various equation forms. Given the basic concepts behind isolation of a variable to determine value of an unknown, the learners will recognize that solution is a simple process of undoing mathematical operations. The context of the instruction will start with single variable, one and two step equations, and then progress to multi-step, multivariable, and advanced equation solving. The sequence will allow for complete mastery of generalized problem solving including applications to different types of problem scenarios.

The student will understand and be able to use their global understanding of equation solving to work with different types of equations. Using the balance model of isolating variable, they will apply the learning to a variety of different areas
