Welcome! this is a one-time class to learn about the Pythagorean Theorem. Learner will apply the formula to find the missing side length of a leg or hypotenuse for a right triangle. Google slides will display presentation with problems and will be screen shared via zoom. Practice problems will include visuals and word problems. Vocabulary terms: leg, hypotenuse, right angle, right triangle, Pythagorean Theorem, perfect square. Examples to apply Pythagorean Theorem will be introduced and solved for as a class with guidance (Google slides). Learner will then be given examples after instruction for solve for independently or together (learner will decide). As all of my classes mention, learner will decide on how they wish to participate through the lesson: chat messages, unmute to communicate or annotation tool. Required experience: Learner must be familiar with how to find the perfect square and square a number. (Perfect square of 144 = 12, 12^2 = 144). Students can use calculator if needed.
