In this five week class, students will practice one and two digit addition and subtraction problems. This will be a fun class, free from pressure and judgement. This class is Pop It themed to grab student's attention and keep them engaged in learning. However, students are not required to bring Pop Its to class. Students will be provided with worksheets that are Pop It themed. All classwork will be added to class prior to the start of class. In this class, students will... - Be encouraged to participate in group practice - Play math games and watch videos that are related to addition and subtraction - Submit their practice worksheets for review and feedback - Be provided with a Google Classroom code for access to additional resources and practice worksheets - Students will have an opportunity to discuss lessons and ask questions in google classroom. - Be rewarded with a coupon to use toward the purchase of one of Miss Brandy's other classes, if they submit practice work that they have completed outside of class. *** Miss Brandy will provide worksheets for practice** Five week breakdown ----------------------------------- WEEK 1: Base 10 Review- students will share their knowledge of base and review by forming base ten units of tens and hundreds WEEK 2: Add, Subtract and Review- After a solid review of Base 10 units, students will be taught how to solve one digit addition and subtraction problems. Students will practice as a group and individually using provided worksheets. WEEK 3: Add Big Numbers- After a solid review of one digit addition and subtraction, students will be taught how to solve two digit addition problems. Students will practice as a group and individually. WEEK 4:Test Our Knowledge- Students will review adding and subtraction using base ten units. Students will review as a group and individually. WEEK 5: Speed Practice: Students will practice solving addition and subtraction problems with Math Games and worksheets that will be provided by Miss Brandy. NOTE: Miss Brandy will be offering a 3rd grade preparation class this Summer that would be great for students that have completed this class.
