Political Philosophy (Live)
In this one-time live class, students will learn about a variety of political theories from philosophy, including liberalism, egalitarianism, libertarianism, and communitarianism. They will get to discuss and apply these ideas together.

In this one-time class, students will get an overview of the major political theories the great philosophers have devised throughout history, including liberalism, egalitarianism, libertarianism, and communitarianism, among others. The instructor will explain and contextualize the material in a brief and engaging way, using real-world examples and thought experiments to illustrate difficult concepts. Then we will have a guided Socratic-style student-led discussion. This format enables the students both to grasp the material enough to engage with it meaningfully, and to then actively relate to it on their own terms.

I’m the head coach of a competitive high school debate team and teach the liberal arts at a classical school. I’m also a professional creative writer and journalist.
