For many authors, seeing their work in print can mean they've accomplished a major goal. In this summer intensive learners will learn to both revise a piece for publication and learn how to research and submit to a market. We will work on one piece for the entire week, from reviewing to revising to submitting. Learners can choose to work on flash fiction, short stories, poetry, or essays. Before the first session, learners will be asked to turn in a short work (5 pages or 1,250 words max) to the teacher for short feedback at least 48 hours before class. They will be expected to revise that piece between the first and second class, and can send it to the teacher for short feedback if desired. Between the second and third class learners will be asked to think about what kind of magazine their current piece is good for, and write down key words to describe it.수업 외 주당 2 - 4 시간

Notebook/paper and pencil/pen. A handout will be given each class for reference, but printing it is optional. Internet access will be needed at times when there is no class.
While we will be submitting to markets that are appropriate for young teenagers, there are a wide variety of subjects young teens write about, and all magazine content cannot be screened ahead of time.
