In this course we dive into the exciting basics of podcasting. From brainstorming creative ideas to mastering the art of recording and editing, you'll learn all the essentials tools to bring your voice to life. We will explore how to promote your podcast and build a brand. I will encourage back and forth engagement, the more interactive the better, and it will be student-focused always, designed to inspire creativity while building confidence. I balance informative instruction with dynamic activities, encouraging participation through hands-on practice, live demonstrations, and open discussions. By fostering a supportive and inclusive environment, I help students feel empowered to share their ideas and explore their unique voices, all while having fun and learning valuable skills. I use a myriad of tools including video clips and slides along with discussions and back and forth engagement.

I bring a unique blend of professional expertise and lived experience to my Podcasting Basics class. As the host and producer of my own podcast, and producer of 3 other podcasts, I have over three years of hands-on experience creating, editing, and publishing podcast episodes on platforms like Spotify and Apple Podcasts. My background includes managing all aspects of podcast production, from content planning to audio editing, which equips me with the tools and knowledge to guide students in crafting their own shows.
In addition to my podcasting experience, I have over seven years of experience working with children as a homeschool mom, where I developed engaging lesson plans tailored to different learning styles. I’ve also coached middle school volleyball and golf teams, honing my ability to connect with kids in a fun, encouraging, and structured way. My approach emphasizes empowerment and creativity, meeting each student where they are and helping them build confidence in their abilities.
While I’ve taught podcasting to adults and peers, this class represents an exciting opportunity to bring my skills to a younger audience. With a strong focus on fostering curiosity and hands-on learning, I aim to inspire students to explore the art of podcasting and discover their unique voices.
