This is a private class.

This one-time private placement class will use materials from various levels of the Phonics for Reading, Writing, and Spelling Curriculum. Students will have a chance to meet our reading story friends Jojo and Jake, a cute little brother/sister team who love to help us with our reading. Various class materials will be used to provide you with a recommendation of where to place your child within the curriculum. The placement class will be fun, colorful, and interactive. Students will feel welcomed, comfortable, and encouraged.
If your child is out of the age range for this class, and you'd still like to reserve a spot, please message me.

Phonics for Reading, Writing, and Spelling is a comprehensive program encompassing reading, writing, spelling, and comprehension. This interactive, phonics-intensive program is steeped in the time-tested Spalding philosophy of reading. Students will learn systematically as phonograms are presented in order from simple to complex. Multi-sensory lessons are fast-paced and fun! Students will learn and grow with our original characters Jojo and Jake as they follow them through a series of 45 all-original stories.
Engaging characters, thoughtful stories, and smooth continuity of lessons make Phonics for Reading, Writing, and Spelling highly effective for all learning styles!

My name is Cherie Steele. I am a graduate of Penn State University, and I am trained in the teaching of Intensive Phonics. I hold both TESOL and TEFL certifications. In addition, I have a strong background in music, having completed 3 years of study in music and vocal performance at JDF Records in Nashville, TN. I have twenty years of experience as a curriculum author and teacher. I am also the mother of five fabulous kids, all of whom I have completely homeschooled.
For the past twenty years, one of my great loves has been teaching language arts. Reading, writing, grammar, literature, and poetry are my passions. From ensuring that young students have a firm foundation in phonics to training older students to become great writers, it is my goal to establish a love of language arts in children.
I invite you to look over the parent reviews regarding the efficacy of the Phonics for Reading, Writing, and Spelling Curriculum and the teaching methods used in my classroom.
