PETS! 어린이를 위한 크래프팅 수업

This class is designed for the practice of communicating with a teacher and peers online with similar interests, as well as sparking a love for art. It's a very laid-back atmosphere with no fancy expectations of the students. They will learn to take turns speaking while sharing about their pets (or friend's/family's pets), and they will always have the option to create an art piece about their pets each week using different mediums. If your student is shy, no worries at all. They will not be pressured into speaking. They may also use the chat to talk to the teacher or their peers if they prefer. Our current schedule for art projects in this class is as follows (please note that supplies/ideas may change. This is used as a guideline for the current time and may differ on occasion, with at least one week's advance notice.):

FALL & WINTER Schedule TBD

I will greet the students & introduce myself and my pets as well as demonstrate the finished project of what we will be working on in art that day. I'll facilitate age-appropriate conversation and lead the learners into answering some thoughtful (and sometimes silly) questions about their pets as we work together to make our craft projects. 

** I will try my best to allow each student to have a voice in the conversation and help warmly pull them out of their shells, but I do try to steer away from making a child feel uncomfortable by forcing participation. This is a truly safe space and all learners are welcome here, no matter what their participation level is. With this age group, I feel it is best for cameras to stay on during the meeting so I can better engage with them and read body language to see how they are feeling and adjust accordingly, but I do understand the need to turn them off after check-ins if needed. Please reach out and let me know what kind of personality your child has before class via private message from the classroom tab, and perhaps one or two things he/she likes. It can be an awesome ice breaker when they are feeling stuck or shy to hear their teacher likes something they like! I care very much about your child's comfort in my classroom! **

The class will conclude with showing our finished art, and approximately 5 more minutes of chit-chatting & goodbyes with friends if time allows. I believe children should always have free time to talk with other kids in a non-structured way! Hope to see you in the classroom!
