Listen, I get it! Spelling rules are CONFUSING! There are so many exceptions to every rule- when do they apply? When do they not? It can be tricky to navigate!

I've been teaching English for 4 years now and when I was younger I loved competing in spelling bees at the local and state levels. This 1-on-1 class can be booked as needed to help your students of all levels excel in and grow to love spelling & vocabulary. This is a safe space for students of all levels and can be used to help students who have fallen behind in spelling and want to work to get ahead or it can be used to assist students who love spelling and want to stay sharp and focus on tips and tricks for excelling in spelling bees. 

In my class, I will use games and activities to explore common spelling words. Some things we may work on in class include phonics, spelling rules (like when the letter G says "j", bossy e, rules for syllables), exceptions to the spelling rules, tips and tricks for memorizing spelling words, and vocabulary/definitions. We can focus on common spelling words for your students grade level, any spelling lists they have outside of class, or we can work through the Scripps school spelling list for 2022 and the Words of Champions list.
