수업 소개

During this class, students will be given step by step instruction on how to watercolor a cotton candy color-themed galaxy unicorn. 
Students will learn how to:
1.  Prepare and use watercolor paper to enhance their painting.
2.  Easily transfer the unicorn silhouette (attached file) onto their watercolor paper using a #2 pencil and pen.
3.  Use the wet on wet technique to blend colors creating a soft effect.
4.  Build layers of watercolors to create vibrant shades.
5.  Practice hand-eye coordination.
5.  Correct any mistakes made while painting.
6.  Create stars using paintbrushes.
7.  Follow instructions.

Linda checks in periodically with each student and will ask to see their painting throughout the class to see if she can provide additional tips and pointers.  Students are encouraged to ask questions and share their work with others.  No previous watercolor experience is needed.   

A blow dryer will be required for this project to dry the art piece. For future designs, this technique can be applied to any silhouette drawing they choose.

When making stars, it is advised students tap lightly on their brushes, to avoid splattering paint onto themselves.

Watercolor set (Michaels has an inexpensive 36 color palette), or any watercolor set will do. We will be using pastel colors and the palette should include white.  
Print out the attached file of unicorn silhouette
Watercolor paper 6” x 9” (make sure unicorn silhouette fits onto paper)
Masking tape
Scissors
#2 Pencil
Pen
Black Marker - fine tip
Thick cardboard to tape your watercolor paper to
Blow dryer
1 medium-size paintbrush
1 large-size paintbrush
2 glasses of clean water
Paper towels
Large sheet of Newspaper to work on and keep the table clean
