In this course, students will be able to: Identify Middle C Locate notes A, B, C, D, E, F, G on the keyboard Learn proper posture and finger placement Understand musical terminology Understand musical symbols Learn basic rhythms Learn notes on the staff Know the difference between their right and left hands Learn how to play basic songs

We will most likely be using the Alfred's Basic Piano Library - All In One Series, which can be found on Amazon. However, please wait until after our first class to purchase your book, so I recommend a book that I feel is most appropriate for your child. If you have had previous lessons, please bring some music that you have already worked on, so we can determine an appropriate book and starting point. If you have already purchased or are currently using a different book, please message me and we'll figure out how we want to proceed. Other materials needed for class: pencil scrunchie, hair tie or watch to help determine right from left (optional) sticker for marking Middle C overhead camera/phone mount (highly recommended as it allows me to see your student's hands)

For young learners, I recommend that a parent or helper assist in the initial setup before class (identifying Middle C with a sticker, identifying right/left hands, camera placement if you have an overhead mount).
