In my one-on-one reading tutoring sessions, I provide lessons designed to help students practice essential reading skills at their own pace.

Phonics and Letter-Sound Recognition: Students practice letter sounds through targeted activities that help build a solid foundation for reading.

Sight Word Recognition: I work with students to practice high-frequency sight words, aiming to help them recognize words more quickly and accurately.

Reading Comprehension: I guide students through stories by helping them focus on identifying key elements, which aids in developing their comprehension skills.

Building Reading Fluency: Students practice reading aloud to help improve their speed and expression, working toward a more natural reading flow.

My teaching approach is patient and adaptable, responding to the unique needs of each student. Lessons are customized based on the student’s current abilities, and I incorporate various resources to aid the learning process. Ongoing feedback is provided to support growth and improvement.

This tutoring is intended to help students who are beginning their reading journey or those looking to build upon their existing skills. It is also beneficial for children who may need extra support with literacy, as well as those who want to further develop their reading abilities in a focused, one-on-one setting.

Each session includes a mix of:

Targeted activities to practice key skills

Visual aids to reinforce concepts and enhance understanding

Discussions that encourage students to engage with the material and reflect on their learning

By focusing on consistent practice, I strive to provide a learning experience that helps students strengthen their reading skills in a supportive and individualized environment.

I bring over 10 years of experience as a homeschool educator with a strong focus on early literacy. I helped my own son learn to read before kindergarten, and I continue to share that passion through personalized reading instruction. I hold a TESOL certificate and enjoy helping young readers build strong foundations.

In addition to homeschooling, I worked for more than 12 years in both public and non-public schools, providing support services. I am currently a private tutor, offering one-on-one and small group lessons for students of different ages and learning styles.

As an ACE Educator on Outschool, I’m committed to delivering high-quality, engaging lessons that meet each learner’s individual needs. My background in elementary education shapes my approach to teaching, and I’m continuing to expand my studies in this field to stay current with best practices.
