만화가를 위한 일대일 미술 레슨

In this class the student will learn all aspects of putting together a comic book, This will start with discussing what the comic is going to be about then coming up with the characters and how it will look on the page.

This will be very student led so if they prefer to just focus on marvel superheroes that's fine. However we can also look at DC comics, British comics (2000AD for example), anime comics and graphic novels. Also if they would like to focus on a particular aspect of comic book drawing we can do that too. For instance if they are not interested in doing a comic book page we can focus on perspective, shading, backgrounds, drawing faces or hands.

I will be screen sharing a large plug in digital tablet to teach which means students can clearly see what I am drawing. Also I can give advice if students wish to use a tablet (Ipad, Samsung etc) to learn on as they suit comic book drawing very well. 

So do you have to be good at drawing to start this class? Well obviously that would be great but no you don't have to be  a genius artist. This is an ongoing class and we have all the time needed to  focus on what they need to learn, whether that be drawing  faces, hands or getting the hang of perspective. Practice, in my opinion is the only way to improve. Practice, practice, practice and you will get there in the end. So the only thing you need for this class is a willingness to try and not give up :)   

Week 1: Story boarding (discussing what the story is about) and starting on the first page

Week 2: continuing with the first page and discussing if they would like to focus on particular aspects of making a come (drawing back grounds, shading etc) 

Week 3: discussing the layout for page 2 and continuing with drawing the story

Week 4: Continuing with page 2 (inking and colouring)

Further weeks will build on the subjects covered in the first 4 weeks and taking that knowledge to finish the comic and looking  at ant area the student would like to develop further.
