In this on-going class, we will explore patterns in the world around us. We will look at patterns in nature, music, literature, as well as patterns of progression in visual representations, clocks. analogies and math. Each week will work in one of these areas to find and identify the patterns that we see, hear, and experience. The teacher will have a slide show presentation to accompany an active discussion of the patterns in our world. Learners are encouraged to share patterns that...
Patterns are a big part of our world. Being able to identify patterns that you see will be encouraged as we will talk about patterns that we have seen the previous week in each class before instruction begins. Learners will also be encouraged to remember patterns that might fit the theme for the week and to share them with the other learners. Seeing patterns and their progression will help with future learning as it will give a foundation of looking for patterns, which is a great problem-solving strategy, not only in school, but also in life.
The teacher is a certified and experience GATE teacher.
No supplies are required, but if a learner finds a pattern, they are welcome to bring a visual representation of that pattern to class.
