This is a 5 week class where the students will read through pages of The Toothpaste Millionaire each week. Each class we will be discussing the pages we read, going over vocabulary for the pages and answering discussion questions. Every student will need a copy of The Toothpaste Millionaire by Jean Merrill and each week they will need to read the pages before the next class. Students are expected to actively participate during class and with the assigned reading and discussion questions each...
Students will learn to establish their own thoughts while reading a book and sharing them with others. We will be looking at new vocabulary for each of the section of pages and discussing what we think about what has happened, is happening and will happen as we move through the book.

Each student will need a copy of The Toothpaste Millionaire by Jean Merrill.
The Toothpaste Millionaire is about a resourceful and scrupulously honest 12-year old makes a million dollars by selling toothpaste at no more than 15 cents a tube. Discrimination is mentioned, as a question if one of the main characters would discriminate against another character since they were black, that character is black also. The book's setting is Ohio in the 1960s.
