Performing Shakespeare can feel overwhelming, but it doesn’t have to be! I used to be terrified of Shakespeare, but once I learned how to break it down, I realized how fun and exciting his work can be. This one-time masterclass is designed to make Shakespeare’s language easy to understand and perform. Through practical techniques, engaging exercises, and guided scene work, students will gain the confidence to approach any Shakespearean role. By the end of the day, we’ll put these skills into action with a condensed performance of Romeo and Juliet!

WHAT YOU CAN EXPECT FROM THIS COURSE
No Fear Shakespeare is a space for actors to break down the barriers of Shakespeare’s language and learn to perform his text naturally. We’ll focus on:

- Making Shakespeare’s words feel effortless and conversational
- Understanding rhythm, iambic pentameter, and poetic devices
- Strengthening vocal and physical performance techniques
- Bringing characters to life with confidence and authenticity

- I am working on a Theatre Education Degree from Utah State University
- I have cast and directed various shows for ages 14 and up and have four years of experience coaching students ages 9 and up in private instruction
- I have three years of experience as an assistant director and teacher’s assistant in a high school theatre program
- I have been acting onstage for over twenty years
