This pre-recorded video class is easy-going and fully explained, step-by-step for the novice but never condescending. Learners are encouraged to have fun with the process and laugh at their mistakes. We will go over the tools and ingredients needed, how to prepare our area, how to measure effectively, and have fun while we learn. We'll mix and shape our candy, placing them in the freezer for 15 minutes. We'll melt the chocolate and dip the peanut butter into it, placing the candy in the refrigerator until ready to taste. Only 5-6 ingredients are required, 45 minutes, and no strange tools! Learners will make approximately 12 candies.

In this self-paced course, students will learn how to first organize their cooking tools and ingredients. They will learn how to measure and mix the ingredients for the candy and shape them. They will learn how to safely and effectively melt the chocolate and use it to coat the balls/eggs.

Younger or unexperienced students may need some assistance from adults, particularly with measuring, and with the melting chocolate, as it will be hot and can be tricky to dip. Some learners may need help placing and removing the pan from the freezer as well.

Ingredients: • 1 cup all-natural unsweetened peanut butter* • 1/4 cup pure maple syrup* • 2.5 – 3 tablespoons coconut flour* • 1 cup naturally-sweetened dark or milk chocolate chips (or regular chocolate chips)* • 1 teaspoon coconut oil (melted)* • 1 pinch of salt (if peanut butter is unsalted) Tools: • Parchment paper or 2 silicone sheets • 2 baking sheets • Measuring spoons: 1 teaspoon, 1 tablespoon • Measuring cups: ¼ cup liquid measuring cup, 1 cup dry • Medium mixing bowl • Small microwave-safe bowl • 3-4 mixing spoons • Dinner fork, 2 butter knives • 1-2 tablespoon cookie dough scoop, a dinner tablespoon or dinner teaspoon *If you use regular, sweetened peanut butter, you may need to add more or less coconut flour, as it may have a different consistency than the unsweetened peanut butter. *If you're allergic to coconut, try using almond flour (not almond meal). *You may substitute honey, but it has a stronger flavor. *If you use chocolate chips with sugar, the darker the chips, the less sugar they will have. *You may substitute the coconut oil for any mild-flavored oil, like avocado oil.
