🌸 🌸In this ongoing class, the students will read one book a week ahead of time and come to class to discuss. This is a silly series for beginning chapter book readers. At Ella Mentry School, all of the grown-ups are quite weird in their own weird way. The main characters are A.J. who doesn’t like school and has to deal with his arch-enemy Andrea Young. Andrea loves school and everything else that A.J. hates! These just might be the funniest stories in the history of the world! 🌸I feel that reading, both alone or with a group, has an impact on who we are and how we interact with the world around us. No matter the students’ ages, or whether it is in a small group setting or large group discussion, conversing about books tends to turn into conversations about being human. Book clubs give each learner a sense of belonging and provides connections in many ways. My ultimate goal is to design a positive, affirming experience each time we come together.
