나의 히어로 아카데미아와 진짜 괴짜들의 과학

My Hero Academia is filled with many different superpowered individuals. One of the coolest elements of the series is that, unlike a lot of superpowered shows and comics, these powers are governed by a sense of realism. In this class, we will look at several characters and examine how their quirk works.
The major section of the class is a lecture in which using science, physics, logic, and a bit of imagination, we examine the nature of the quirks and the science/physics behind their strengths and weakness. A selection of heroes and villains will be broken down and we will discuss their quirks, how they work in the anime/manga, and then compare them to the real science and physics they are based on, as well as more sci-fi based applications.
For example: Why is it important that Todoroki have both the ice and fire quirks and not just one? How do they work individually and how do they work together? What is the science behind why they work this way? How can we recreate this effect more efficiently?
The class itself is also discussion-based, encouraging the learners to interact with each other and build their own understanding. Questions and comments made to foster understanding are welcome and a group discussion will be at the end of class to assess what we have learned in which the present their own hero or villain.

Week 1: Heroes. We examine the students of class 1A and some other major heroes.
Week 2: Villians. We examine the League of Villians and other main antagonists.

Note: Students may want a basic knowledge of My Hero but it is not necessary.
