Music theory is an essential part of understanding the fundamentals of music. Since theory is the fundamental backbone behind the learning process of a musical instrument, it will equip your student to excel at playing a musical instrument and composing music. Incorporating music theory into your private music lessons will be extremely important for the acceleration of development and growth as a musician. Lessons with Miss Brooke are structured yet flexible, focusing on tangible progress. Possible topics to consider: Note values Rhythm Identifying and reading notes on the treble clef and bass clef Musical notation Intervals Circle of Fifths Key signatures Scales Roman numeral analysis Harmony Triads Inversions 7th Chords Voice leading/part writing
