This class will start with the fundamentals of western music and build from there, preparing students to succeed on the AP music theory exam! Students will learn the fundamentals of western music theory and how to apply them in analysis, composition, listening, and performance. By the end of the class, learners will be prepared to successfully take the AP Music Theory exam!
I have a Master of Music degree from Northwestern University and a Bachelor of Music degree from Juilliard. In addition to the fundamental music theory and aural skills curriculum required of every Juilliard music major, I have taken advanced coursework in analysis, counterpoint, and music cognition.

I will provide all informational resources and exercises, so no textbook is required. In order to complete and submit homework and listening exersises, you will need either a printer and scanner/scanning application, or a device that allows you to annotate on .pdfs.
