This unit’s focus is on fractions. Students will focus on dividing fractions into equal parts of a whole, counting and modeling fractions, placing fractions on number lines, making equivalent fractions and comparing fractions. Materials: Worksheets will be provided Pencil & eraser Paper or whiteboard Scissors, glue, coloured pencils, markers, construction paper. (Parents may need to supervise use or scissors) Dice for some of the games Manipulatives - fraction builder mat, fractions on a number line mat, equivalent fractions mat, comparing fractions mat, fraction tiles, paper copy included - please cut out before class.
Please be advised that students will be using scissors in class and/or cutting out manipulatives/activities outside of class.
