몬테소리 독서 및 쓰기: 초보 독자를 위한 단어 학습 1회/주

💙Level 5 Word Study is designed for readers who are learning to read and spell complex words such as ‘firefighter.’ They are mastering many digraphs such as /i-e/ and /-igh/. They want to know more about word categories like 'opposites' and 'compound words.' 

💙 CLASS CONTENT: Each 45-minute session has individual attention, using the mute/unmute button to help learners focus and enjoy full participation! 
Via screen-sharing: 
1️⃣ 🎶 I sing a letter-sound song with a slideshow of pictures/lowercase print letters. The songs reinforce memorization of digraphs such as 'ai' for 'airport.

2️⃣ 🖼️ I introduce 8 colorful photos for a topic such as "synonyms," ('joyful/ecstatic') focusing on names, spellings and descriptions.

3️⃣ 📝 Using the dotted-font word list provided, I demonstrate writing each word twice while spelling the letter names.

4️⃣ 📖 Learners take turns to read a label, describe the picture or use their word in a sentence, and observe as I match each label with a picture. 

5️⃣ 🖼️ 📝 📖 We repeat the same process with another 8 photos: introduction, writing, reading and discussion. 

6️⃣ 🎉 I guide a fun cooperative BINGO game, emphasizing picture description, conversation and correct spelling. 

😊 My teaching style is warm, attentive and patient. This class is similar to a Montessori classroom experience; a small group of mixed-age learners with a shared enthusiasm for vocabulary, letter sounds, spelling, conversation, and learning to read fluently!

05/12: more antonyms e.g. 'interior/exterior' & ‘loose/tight’
05/19: set 1 compound words e.g. ‘highway’ & 'bowtie'
05/26: set 2 compound words e.g. 'earring' & ‘waterskiing’
06/02: set 3 compound words e.g. 'baseball' & ‘lighthouse’
06/09: set 4 compound words e.g. 'motorcycle' & ‘seashore'
06/16: simple plural nouns with /-s/ e.g. ‘raincoats’ & ‘chauffeurs’
06/23: /-es/ plural nouns e.g. ‘benches’ & ‘potatoes’
06/30:  /-ies/ plural nouns e.g. ‘puppies’ & ‘stories’ 
07/07: irregular plural nouns e.g. 'mice' & 'children'
