Learners will be introduced to a new influential Modern Dance Pioneer each week. We will dive in and interact in the classroom with what their contribution was to the evolution of Modern Dance. Learners will receive a handout as well as a link to a video to review footage from the Modern Pioneer of the week. Discussion questions will be posted in the classroom throughout the course. We will explore topics including how Modern dance came to be and what Modern Dance looks like today. Each movement class video will begin with center floor and standing exercises that will include movements such as flat backs, lateral stretches and lunges. Various Modern Dance combinations will be taught each week. Learners will pick at least one combination done in class and will post a video doing the exercise in the classroom to allow for instructors corrections as well as feedback from peers.

Please make sure your learner is in an area where they can move around freely. Also, having a water bottle nearby during class is encouraged. Students will want to be in comfortable clothes that they can easily move in and hair pulled back. By signing up for this class you should understand that when participating in any exercise or dance program, there is the possibility of physical injury. Hello! I’m Miss Lauren and am a performer, educator, choreographer and former dance studio owner in Milton, VT.
I am trained in various styles of dance including Ballet, Tap, Jazz, Hip Hop, Lyrical, Modern and Acrobatics and hold a Bachelors Degree in Dance. I am also a professional for Dancing with the Stars Burlington and have graced the Flynn stage with my performance in 2019 and guest performance in 2022.
I provide wholesome dance classes where movement and music selection is always age appropriate. My main focus is to create a fun and energetic learning environment allowing kids to express themselves! I have been instructing children of all ages for 18 years and have loved every minute of it!
When not dancing, I can be found spending time with my husband and two boys. Dancing has always been my number one love and passion and is the fuel for my soul! I can’t wait to see you in my class! Now let’s get moving!
