Our last week for this class is on May 2, 2023. At that point, every session of this class will be replaced by the new version: https://outschool.com/classes/dr-robin-wrote-you-an-anatomy-coloring-book-body-systems-and-how-doctors-think-6FBDdm5o -->If you wanted to still work in this book, you can schedule a private session instead: https://outschool.com/classes/human-biology-and-pre-medical-tutoring-Hsi2mRuU#usXhgNAFKP About the Class: -In this ongoing class, we will work through Human Anatomy Coloring Book by Margaret Matt. -Each week we will color one page and discuss the topic in more detail to help it come alive and be more memorable to the students. -My teaching week runs Monday to Sunday (so on Sunday, I'm covering the same topic as I was the week previous and change to a new topic on Monday). Class Details -I will use models or videos as appropriate to the topic and we will also review the areas on our own bodies when possible so that students will have a "model" they can take with them wherever they go. -I will discuss some physiology or medical stories to help the areas discussed be more meaningful in the larger context. -As a physician, I'm able to provide more a personal and tailored context for the students. -We are not doing the book strictly in order as I think certain topics make more sense in a different order. -The classes are each stand alone and do not build on each other, but your student will get a more complete understanding of the human body by attending every week. -When we finish the book, I'll start back at the beginning so that your student can finish their own book. week of March 12: Kidneys (page 37) week of March 19: Nervous System (page 24) and Autonomic Nervous System (page 29) week of March 26: Nerve Cell (page 25) Week of April 3: Students will learn human anatomy while understanding that it fits in the context of physiology and medicine. Each week they will create a colorful study sheet they can revisit later.
그 외 세부 사항
학부모 가이드
Nothing in this class will be or is intended to be medical advice. This is merely educational in nature and will be a surface-level overview. Your student will not be coming out of this class knowing anything about how to diagnose or treat any conditions and we will not be discussing any personal medical questions/needs. Students should come with general questions about the topic.
수업 자료
Every student will need a copy of Human Anatomy Coloring Book: an Entertaining and Instructive Guide to the Human Body - Bones, Muscles, Blood, Nerves and How They Work by Margaret Matt. This is currently $3.86 USD on Amazon (https://smile.amazon.com/Human-Anatomy-Coloring-Childrens-Science/dp/0486241386/) Colored pencils and a pencil sharpener will be necessary--do not use markers or pens as they will bleed through the pages

As a family physician with a decade in private practice, I love teaching young people about how their bodies work. I believe that people who understand their bodies will take better care of them.
